In September 1977, Nigeria produced Festac ’77-the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Now, in 2017, Nigeria is proudly featuring beautiful, bold African garments through Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2017, founded by Ronke Ademiluyi.
The designs are displayed in the street catwalks and fashion shows from top designers, such as FIBONETTI COLLECTION, KLAMZIESTYLE, DRESSES BY ALOLI and ZAINAB BRIDALS, including Model Casting Agencies, Hair Stylists, Stylists and Make Up gurus as well.
While creating jobs and skills training through fashion, the African Fashion Week In Nigeria, has also provided another avenue for these designers to creatively showcase their wares. As an added bonus, it gives the designers, an opportunity to establish a sustainable living for themselves.
These fashion shows have consistently created a an avenue for Nigeria to effectively compete with the global fashion scene while leveling an opportunity for tourist attractions and be able to pull in global fashion talent.
