KARL LAGARFELD- “OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE CARS, IN FRANCE WE HAVE HIGH FASHION AND THE BEST CRAFTSMANSHIP”

Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of CHANEL, FENDI and his own fashion label, says-“Couture has to have a perfect flawless structure”

He explained that, he does not believe in too much embellishment, but prefers silhouettes that feel very light on the body and look very easy to wear.

Mr. Lagerfeld believes, what’s special about Haute Couture is the craftsmanship, the work, the embroidery and the time spent on it. He added that, he`s quite proud of his newest designs and is more interested in using rich, uncomplicated, fresh, and  weightless materials, for modern Haute Couture.

He continued to explain that while he likes both ways of designing, there always should be a difference between Haute Couture and Ready to Wear.
