Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their third child! The 35 – year old duchess and mother of two, has been suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The press release from Kensington Palace also announced that, Kate had previously been sick with this disease while pregnant with her two children – Prince George ( 4yrs old ) and Princess Charlotte (2yrs old ).
One in every 100 pregnant women, fall ill with Hyperemesis Gravidarum which causes them to suffer from severe vomiting. Some women consistently vomit up to fifty times a day. Kate Middleton has not been able to commit to several upcoming events, due to this illness. She eventually had to cancel most of her royal appearances.
During pregnancy, some women usually experience traditional morning sickness which lasts up to fourteen weeks. Hyperemesis Gravidarum on the other hand, is very debilitating and lasts all through pregnancy. It greatly affects the quality of life of the pregnant woman and induces extreme nausea and vomiting, dehydration, low blood pressure and ketosis which is caused by a lack of glucose. These are all symptoms of this wicked disease.

HG, while being very difficult and highly unpleasant for the pregnant mother, will seldom harm the unborn baby. Pregnant women suffering from this disease are advised to consult their healthcare practitioners and may be treated with anti – emetic drugs such as vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and steroids, with a combination of other healing drugs.
